Lost all my close friends in the marriage breakup as they were mutual friends and chose to stay in closer touch with with the ex.

Best advice was to always maintain focus on the best interests of the children. Keeping that in mind has helped me through so much of what could have been bitterness and vindictiveness.

Lawyer isn't much help, just sucks away my money while assuring me that most men give up on their kids after a few years.

This forum has been a saving grace to me. I do feel here people understand a whole lot more what it is really like. Friends are supportive but confused at the system as it makes no sense. My mother has been a god send.

No one really understands. The best support is from the people who listen, and still want to be friends after you have yelled their ears off.

Good question karmaseeker. My list of people helping out looks like this.
1) New Partner
2) Friends
3) Co-workers
4) My lawyer.
5) A digital recorder !!!

My biggest help has been my best friend, my aunt and the net.
I still feel alone a lot of the time though.
