    Hi:

I'm over 50 with no children. My ex has been dragging out what should be a straightforward divorce. Between him and the lawyers, they have pushed it to trial! The reality is that I am out of funds and will likely have to self represent myself both at the trial management and actual trial. So I've come here in hopes that there may be others who have gone gone this road alone and can offer assistance.

I have done everything to play fair and settle ... to no avail.

    Thanks,
    Tina

I would imagine to obtain any specific advise you would need to clarify what the issues are that wolud bring a straight forward divorve to trial.

I didn't have money for a lawyer for my trial either. I got a lawyer from legal aid.
I owned a house (with mortgage) but because I had debt, low income and a minimal amount in my bank acct. I was qualified. Because I owned a house, I did have to pay back a portion of the lawyer fees ie. normally it would of have cost $17,000.00, I paid just under $3000.00. However, I sued for costs and received almost $6,000.00 from ex.
      Good luck!
