  • Trying to stay strong

    Hello
Just joined an hour or so ago. Let's just keep it short: Left an emotionally abusive marriage with a toddler, expecting again, X denies paternity, am having mental and physical health problems due to him. My "friends" are telling him what I'm doing behind my back. Firing my lawyer as he has proven he has no clue about Domestic Violence. X has residential custody of toddler, and I am feeling overwhelmed at the thought of fighting this slimy bastard in court.
Any suggestions? Help? Advice? Know a good lawyer?
    Thanks
    Jane

    Jane:
My problems seem so insignificant after reading this.
You may feel overwhelmed about a court fight but it looks to me like you still have enough defiance left in you to deal with it.
You picked the wrong guy....and the wrong friends. It happens. Get some real friends, find a comfort zone to live in, give yourself some breathing space, re-charge, pick your own speed and above all....take care of yourself. Your future is the kids and a happier life. Don't let anyone stop you achieving that.
    Good luck.

      Still able to laugh.

<grin> Glad I could help you feel better. I pick one problem per day to work on.
Hopefully getting a new lawyer on Monday. Everybody I've talked to says I should fight custody, so that is what I shall do.
      Have a good day.

OK let me rephrase....defiance and sense of humour left in you to deal with it!
Hope your new lawyer works out OK.
