  • New witness after closing cases

    Hi guys.
I need some help. We just finished our trial today and submissions are due on monday. The applicants fatherr's lawyer says he wants to bring in a new witness after both lawyer closed their case.

Since the begning of the trial they have been keep on surprising us with new documents which they did not submit 40 days befor the trial and judge is keep on allowing them. (The judge is a criminal judge and our trial is a family trial). He is getting frustrated by this, but is still allowing them to submit. I would like to know if he could still allow them to bring in the witness. I am worried that his lawyer did not disclose who the witness is and what they would talk about. I know I have nothing to hide, but still I am getting tired of their tricks and lies.

Could anyone please let me know if its allowed and if not can you give a reference to a latest case where judge didn't allow new witness. Because he told my lawyer that if there is a case law or a law, that she could use which refer to a case for not allowing the new witness then he would listen.
