  • how to impute income?

My ex "makes" around 20-25 K per year. she works for her brother whom she currently lives with. She is a pro at what she does. When I look online, kijiji or jobbank.gc.ca, they pay $20-30 per hour. She gets paid probably $12.

They have an employee whom they pay around $20. ex lately complains there is no much jobs but works even weekends.

    1. is it possible to get their employees income as evidence?
    2. Is it possible to have the company information like how much they earn if they lie the business is failing even though it dont matter, many companies are hiring.

wonder what would she say if I ask in court in front of the judge...why you work for $12 when there are companies looking and willing to pay $25....

Sounds like it is non-arms length employment. Depending upon the type of work I'd get union pay grids as well as anything else that shows what the going rate is for someone with her experience. I think if there is someone else who does same work and is paid considerably more for same work, that info. would be relevant. How many years she has worked for family? Some businesses are notorious for cash-under-the-table pay.

Some judges won't care, some will. Luck of the draw.
