  • lawyer specializong in childrens protective law?

So my ex went from self repping to having three different lawyers in the last two months.

I'm wondering about the current one, she lists children's protective law as her specialty. Am I about to be set up by my ex, or am I reading too much into this?

All the references to her in canlii and the press are about her representing respondents against various children's aid societies across the province, not person vs person cases.

Sorry for the typos, I'm writing this from my phone.

When I hired my lawyer I was unaware that his firm had advertised heavily as family lawyers for men's rights LOL. I am female and did very well.

Sometimes lawyers do indeed have a wealth of experience in one particular area. Other times lawyers simply like to advertise according to the current trend. A good example, in my opinion, is lawyers who advertise they are 'collaborative lawyers' while they hold no membership association or affiliation with a collaborative law association. Hmmm.

I think that this is a legal aid lawyer. Plus the second lawyer often appears as co-counsel in the third lawyers proceedings.

@Arabian - nice situation with your lawyer.
Sounds like yours did a good job for you.

'Hand holders' in family court (co-counsel)? Waste of taxpayers money. Waste of anyone's money, with or without legal aid. Ambulance chaser perhaps? I wouldn't be too concerned.
