  • Definition of assets vs matrimonial home

My fiance and his ex had finalized all the details and the divorce was filed in court, pending it being actually granted.

Now to spite him and me, she's claiming that we hid assets, namely the home we now live in. To clarify, when we met, he was renting and I had purchased a house of my own, which I still own.

We bought our current home about an year and a half into the relationship. Does this home count as his asset to be divided or is it considered our matrimonial home?

Anything he purchased after the day of separation is his, provided he did not use their joint money to do so. She has no claim on the property if you two bought it together with your own money.
