  • OCL approved - Providing a child lawyer

Well, had my case conference and got absolutely nowhere. Judge didn't even hear me - this was the same judge that just a month earlier told my ex she had to allow access with my daughter and to allow us to have a relationship. As soon as I tried explaining that it got worse after we were in front of him prior he stopped me and said he's "not going to hear anything today". Sigh.

Anyway, OCL just responded to our intake forms and are providing a lawyer. No investigator. This is extremely disappointing as my ex has been trying to turn my daughter against me for years and for all intents and purposes, has finally succeeded. A lawyer taking the position of my child is great and all, but if that child has been coached what to say and has years of manipulation already, how can that be even remotely informative after just a couple of interviews?

NOT feeling good about all this. Every step of the way from my lawyer, to duty council, to the judge over the summer has told me that my ex can't be doing this (not allowing access, etc...), but she is and seems to be getting away with it. What to do now? Do I have any options or just let my train derail and look at the mess afterwards?

    Thanks.

Still not sitting well with how this is unfolding.

I did contact the OCL and ask why an investigator was not assigned to my case and was told 'this is the decision that was made'. When I sent in my intake forms I also included many extra pages detailing some of the interference and manipulation I've been dealing with and asked if that was reviewed and considered? Was told again that 'this is the decision that was made' and if I didn't like the decision, I can request in writing for an investigator as well. Ummm, I did that on my intake forms.

So now I'm going to request again an investigator. Since they already have my many extra pages of information, any idea's of what else I can include in my written request for an investigator?

    Thank you.
