Are RRSP to be included during division of property in separation agreement?

Technically anything can be excluded or included in the equalization process. If both parties agree, you can do whatever you want. But...

.... RRSP's count if push came to shove. Although, to perform a 'proper' split you should do an equalization. Equalization covers assets and debts prior to marriage and assests and debts incurred during marriage. Joint assets and debts are split equally between the parties. Only big ticket items are included in this process. Small stuff, even furniture, can be divided simply by "I'll take the couch... you take the washer".
