    Any help is appreciated thanks

Went to court yesterday, the Judge wanted to see all parties, to find out how everything is coming along.

He said we have to start using the family wizard in our correspondence with one another.

Any idea about this program, is it avail. for free? How does it work?

    thanks

I've never used it but I know it's not free.

Here is the link to their website:

It's about $100/ year US$. The biggest advantage of it is that is shows when the other party has last logged on, and it provides a record of when every message is read. If you are in a situation where the other party continually claims to not have received your communication, it's invaluable. If your situation is HC - it's a good idea.

I also like the fact that it does not remain "open" (beyond 20 mins) like other email accounts on your smartphone. If you have kids who like to borrow your phone for games, etc.- it reduces the chance of them seeing emails they don't need to know about.

It also has features you can set, so that you receive an email/ text when a message/ expense/ calendar change, etc. is made by the other party. The email you receive in this feature does not disclose the content of the message stored on Family Wizard either, forcing either party to log on to view it.

If it is being written into an order to use Family Wizard - try to have the phrase "Both parties are to check Our Family Wizard on a weekly basis" - or what suits your situation. You need to be specific in the timeline set for checking emails, for the order to be enforceable. Simply wording the order that "Both parties are to communicate using Family Wizard" is difficult to enforce.

It sucks to have to spend the money on it - but if there are communication difficulties, it may solve some of your problems.

        Thanks By Myself,
Great advice. the judge made a comment that e-mails are no longer very reliable as they can be tweaked/tampered with etc. I find this quite strange. But you bring out a very valid point that " Both parties are to check our family wizard on a weekly basis".
Also I dont know if it makes sense now, as most of the conversation has already happened on e-mail. The trial will be soon, we have a settlement conference coming up for early dec.

They can be...but one can also simply use a certified / signed email service, such as ReadNotify.com, and that issue is pretty much avoided.

          See:
          ReadNotify.com Certified Emails in Court
          ...as an alternative to OurFamilyWizard.com

Judges (or most people) are probably not technically knowledgeable, about this, so they would probably have to be educated or explained this option.

Having said that, OurFamilyWizard.com is probably a much better solution, even if you have to pay, because it offers much more than communication. (shared calendars, shared expense tracking, etc.)
