I love just how equipped our government is.

FRO is closed to phone calls due to "technical difficulties". Even the auto system is down and their voice message mailbox is full.

And, right after the 1st of the month when the majority of payments are due and processed.

I have so much more confidence in them now....

FRO was/is a choice. While it wasn't my choice, I think given some of the stunts my ex has pulled, it didn't work out badly for me.

You can choose to remove yourself from FRO, if both parties agree.

I can remove myself sure, but it doesn't change the fact that their system is down.

They can't take phone calls, you can't utilize the Info-line and you can't even leave a voicemail.

      What's up with that?

Now it's just constant busy signals on both lines. Not even the recorded message of technical difficulties.

Likely, it is, exactly what they said. "Technical issues". Happens to everyone. Wait a day or two, and then call.

Yeah, sure it happens to other government agencies all the time

Maybe they have something to do with the US Healthcare system?? LOL

My business's customers pay thousands of dollars a month for support. We work very hard to prevent outages, but they do happen sometimes. We do end up compensating them on occasion.

This is an entire government system though.

How many people to FRO brag about serving?

My husband got great service Friday. Of course the phones were working that day. The system is down. Try again tomorrow.

If you go to their website there is a notice posted.

Notice: The Family Responsibility Office is currently experiencing an outage with its telephone lines, including the automated information line. We are working to fix this problem as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience this causes. We will provide an update once more information becomes available.

I've never had great service at FRO. Been going through them for almost 2 years, have never managed to actually get my case worker on the phone.

Well my case worker has been great. She has put up with stuff from my ex, and managed to get things done. But I think she works only with payors. I rarely get her on the phone, usually end up leaving a message and I get a call a day or two later.

My husband has never needed to talk to his case worker. His order is 16 years old and for the last 6 (not working) he has made his weekly payments online. He called to give his change of address (we just moved). His case worker called him back and said make no more payments. D19 just completed her post-secondary and CS is done.

Payors and Recipients have different case workers.

Two years and I have had very few of my calls returned.

They claimed once to have left a message on my voicemail at home. When I told her I didn't have voicemail at home, she got angry and asked how it was her fault that I didn't have voicemail.

The only other conversation I've had with them went like this:

"Yes, provide me with his new address details and any other information you may have"

"Okay, I'll print the email he sent me and fax it to you"

                          "We don't correspond via email"

"I know, that's why I said I'd print the email and fax it to you"

"I just told you we don't correspond via email"

"Which is why I said I'd fax the email to you"

Eventually I just said, okay, no problem I won't email.

I didn't realize that. I wonder if fights ever break out in those offices.

Tickets should be sold to those fights.
