  • Heading to Toronto

I'm heading to Toronto this weekend. BF has never been. We're staying at the Hotel Le Germaine downtown.

I think Buskerfest is on this weekend...other than that, anyone have any recommendations on things to do or restaurants in the hotel area? I'm trying avoid driving as much as possible.

As you mentioned, you have to check out Buskerfest...its awesome. We are heading there as well.

N'Awlins is a great restaurant on King st W. Ethiopique has a great lil vibe as well but its a little further on Church st right by Dundas Square.

    Have fun!

Saturday morning, the St. Lawrence market is always buzzing. If you like peameal bacon sandwhiches, thats a favorite.

The Bier Market on the Esplanade is a great place if you are into exotic beers.

Chinatown is always fun too, Spadina below college.

We had a great time at the CNE last weekend. Focused on the free stuff and brought snacks and it didn't cost us much more than admission.

I like eating on Wellington west of Spadina - Marben for brunch, le Select for dinner... both have nice patios.

Distillery district is also a good place to spend a few hours and to eat.

CNE!! (Just don't eat the 'cronut' burger)
              Hockey Hall of Fame.
              The Old Spaghetti Factory (Restaurant)
CN Tower is always fun, and the view is pretty cool.
Dunno their schedule, but maybe catch a Jays game?
You could check out The Brass Rail. (LOL)
The Danforth is fun for shopping/walking.
              Royal Ontario Museum.

There's literally a million things to do in TO.

I'm not sure how close these things are to your hotel, but public transit is excellent in Toronto

I only know it by reputation, so I can't say for sure.

Actually, to be honest I think I ended up there once in my 20's during a bachelor party. But memories are fleeting of that night

Thanks for all the great suggestions.

Had an awesome weekend. We stayed at the Hotel Le Germaine in Maple Leaf Square which had an top floor view of downtown including the CN tower. The room was really swanky (nice shower).

We went to Buskerfest on Saturday although it was pretty packed and hard to see the performers that weren't above the crowd but the couple we saw were great. We ate at 245 Host and it was an amazing meal. I think it was probably the best Indian food I've ever had.

We followed the suggestion to do breakfast on Sunday down by the waterfront and then did a boat tour...that was great too. Then we walked for a few hours and did the Chinatown thing for souvenirs for the kidlets.

It was actually the most awesome time I've ever there. (Largely because the other visits were with my ex...lol). My bf has so much fun, he's now contacting boat dealers to buy a cruiser so we can boat there from Lake Erie and stay overnight in our cabin instead of a hotel room.

Thank you again...very relaxing, fun weekend. You Torontonians are some wonderful people...very polite and gracious!
