  • appeal of divorce orders after 8 yrs.

In Ontario - could I appeal of divorce orders after 8 years?
Do I have any chance to cancel or lower spousal support I am paying to my ex?Thanks.

Has there been a material change in circumstances? Are you paying substantially more than the guidelines?

For clarity, the question should be "could I change our divorce orders after 8 years?"...as when it comes to Ontario court, "appeal" has a specific meaning, and certain timelines around it.

As DowntroddenDad already hinted/asked about, those are driving criteria on whether you can change your existing order. More info is required for an answer.

Do you have a chance to lower spousal support? Yes. But it depends.

What does your order say about review or termination clauses?
What circumstances existed at the time of the agreement and what circumstances exist today?
Has anything of large financial significance changed in either person's lives that could warrant a material change in circumstance?
