  • "Speak to" Court

Attending Speak to court on Monday to deal with my application to vary cs which commenced over 1 yr ago and a couple contempt of court order allegations by the good xwife intended to block the application. We are self repd now. She got 65% and the lawyers took about 50% of our families equity. Ya I know the math does not compute.
She will not answer 90% of my questions in my letter of Interogatory (replaces questioning). Her financial statment is a mockery. Claims that she has expenses far exceeding income by ~3000 per month yet she has no debt. Its a miracle.
Any advice? What can I look frwd to during speak to?
Oh and get this she just got back from a 2 week holiday in St Maarten in the Carribean and she brought our 2 kids. She claims $10/mo vacation/travel expenses. She will take her $400 cocktail dress off and put on Mrs Ingles dress from "little house on the prarie" and claim she and HER kids a destitute then read the bible. Do you think she is playing us a little?

I think you're far too concerned with how she spends her money. It really isn't any of your business.

If you are attending court to "be spoken to", my understanding is that the process will not really include issues to be settled.

I would think it is more along the lines of the Judge ensuring everyone has submitted everything needed to move forward, or perhaps to caution one or both parties of inappropriate behaviour. Maybe even something along the lines of a schedule conflict for the Judge, and a rescheduling will take place.
