CS to SS
I really need some advice..my husband and I have his children 47% (we had to figure out the percentage last time we went to court) of the time. He has always paid support. However in 2003 his ex knew that she was going to lose her job and strategically took us back to court to have the CS increased, which it was. Since then she has had 3 jobs, moved into a pretty nice place, however once again she has lost her job. The difference this time is that my husband is taking her back to court because the eldest will be 20 this year and does not go to school, the youngest will be 18 this year and doubtfully will go to school. My question, can his ex ask for spousal support if the child support ceases.
I'd really appreciate any input

I would like to add that my husband and I have the children (young adults) 46% of the time and have paid for all dental and eye bills (although we have insurance through our work) since the judge's ruling 6 years ago.

I am a second wife to a man with 2 children...since the children were 4 and 6 years old....lots of negativity in between, but they are now 19 and 18 (this summer respectively). My husband is now trying to get his support reduced from a level at which his ex took him to court when she was unemployed (6 years ago). We have been paying that amount to this point (she has had 3 jobs since and just got layed off again) however, we are looking at the age of the children. The 19 year old is working and the now, soon to be 18 year old will graduate this year. They, the mother, and both children are on anti-depressants, so they seem to be getting special treatment (free bus pass) etc, the youngest now tells us that he will get to go to college free because of these pills.
My question, will be be able to get his child support reduced (he is seeing a lawyer in a couple of days) and how long can this go on?
Good grief, what a system
