If the daughter is living with him, support should stop going to you immediately, yes. Child support is for the child. Regardless of your income or where you work you should be paying support to him for the child. This is the law and it is not negotiable or arguable.

Spousal support is not a right the same way child support is. You have show that you have an entitlement, which not everyone does. You have have to show how much you are entitled to, including by showing why it is that you cannot work to support yourself. Spousal support is not automatic. In an ideal circumstance, the two of you should be able to reach an agreement on this without needing courts or lawyers or legal aid. In order to reach an agreement, both of you have to drop the attitude and animosity. This goes for you as well as for him. Phrases like "this mentality is unacceptable" won't get you anywhere at a negotiating table nor will it mean anything in a courtroom.

You should be working or attempting to find work or attending school to upgrade your skills. We have all been where you are now, at one time or another, and you can't spend your life complaining that one person is not willing to pay for everything for you. I am not saying this out of being against spousal support in general; spousal support is important for so many reasons, but it is piece of a puzzle that includes people taking responsibility for their own lives.
