Nadia-thanks for sharing. I hear now that my husbands reaction after our first born isn't so unique. After 3 rounds of counselling and finally ending things, it came out that he hated me after our eldest son was born and has ever since. Mostly due to the attention having to be routed to the children and not him. How terrible to have to listen to him complain to his mother about you like that....incredibly immature !
Thankfully you are out, and I hope you are so comfortable in your own space that it brings a smile every day not having that stress in your own 'environment' ! Way to go...

I think this has to be pretty common, actually, not remotely unique. Relationships do change after the birth of children in ways that many people don't anticipate or deal well with. I could get into all sorts of theories about how people once assumed children would follow soon after their marriage and were more prepared for it, but now this is no longer the case, and I think some couples don't handle the changes well.

I know for me, though I didn't realize it at the time, my ex didn't cope well with how things changed for us after kids.
