I am new to this forum and am in Ottawa Ontario. I was in a common law relationship for 14 years. Came home today and a moving van was in the driveway and my spouse was emptying the house of everything. I was presented with a letter from her lawyer and am now in crisis mode. I need some immediate advice on good lawyers for common law relationships so I can get representation and look after my interests. Any advice?

Use the search tool in this forum and hunker for many hours of reading. The legal referral LV referred to gives you a half hour free advice on the phone. Use that for sure.

There is a wealth of information located in the archives submitted by many members of their experience on this very topic. As DTTE, mentioned already, the forum search engine is a very useful tool to utilize.
