unusual divorce situation

Hi everyone. Hope I can get some help here. My friend who is a real country gal here in the maritimes was married for 6 months to a man in Ontario about 40 years ago. I have seen the marriage certificate. Now, she cannot get any 60-65 year old CPP supplement because she is still married to this man. Does anyone have any ideas where she can start to get a divorce. I have tried to find him in Ontario by phoning all the people by that name but to no avail. It has been 40 years. Help She is in dire need and has no money to really get lawyer advice and legal aid here in N.B. will not help with divorce. where does she start. thanks all. is there any site in Ontario that can help to find out if he even divorced her or not or if he is married again which would make him a bigamist I would think.
