Summer Time!

A season that was very joyus time for me throughout my childhood in Canada, has been a very horrid time for me throughout our daughter's childhood with her mother dictating our summers (and all other times) to us.

Looking for some support and guidance on how to make the best out of this summer for yet another year, with yet another ridiculous custodial mother in Canada, alongside a _very slow_ and essentially childhood molestering family law system in Canada.

Yes, I'm quite bitter towards Canada and their Family Law Systems and biased Judges and rightfully so. But I do know, that at the end of it all, I will walk away with everything I asked for and more. However, it will be really sad to walk away knowing how undesirable our daughter's childhood has been due to a, as voiced out by our own Family Court Judges, a broken Family Law system in Canada.

My only advice is make your time count... when you do have your daughter make sure you are not working, plan activities, they don't have to cost money but do something. Children remember experiences over all else. Give her those experiences with her father. She still has many summers ahead of her where hopefully the two of you will have uninterrupted time

How old is your daughter?

My grandson is 51/2 yrs old

The judge suggested 2 weeks in July and 10 days in August.

Ex not wanting to pay flights for 2 trips ( his words) settled for 3 weeks in the summer this year

Next year 4 weeks and then after that 1/2 summer vacation.

They also have alternate years to have date preference.

It's a bit rocky for Mom but Child will be fine as he is with his Dad.

I hope you can work out something. I think most judges are on the side of split holidays even if child resides with one part most of the time.

It will work until Child decides otherwise and that depends on how well the experience is with each parent.
