to be vindictive and self centered?

A woman and her now ex-husband once undertook in-vitro fertilization during their troubled marriage to attempt at conceiving of their first born. It was during their marriage together that the woman later returns to the clinic to secretly conceive a baby with one of her ex-lovers instead. Unbeknownst to the ex-husband at the time, the baby son, who was actually fathered by another man, was cared for as his own. The coupled soon divorced. The ex-husband continued to pay child support for what he thought was his biological son.

However, during a recent bitter custody battle over their baby son, the conniving woman revealed that the baby was never the ex-husband's to begin with, something she knew all along. This information was revealed with the intention it be a strategy to eliminate his chances of winning custody. DNA tests proved the ex-husband had been lied to during their marriage together as the son was fathered by another man.

Ex-husband sought damages and won a judgement of 100K GBP.

Looks like that 100k divides up into 60k for his legal costs, a 25k refund for the CS he paid, 4k in lost earnings and only 10k in actual damages. He had been asking her for 12k but she made him take her to court.

Honestly, DNA tests being standard at birth would be such a help to men.

^ Not that I support the MRA or feminists. I support gender equality and I don't believe either of those that associate with these gender movements are about equality at all. They always try to get an upper hand for their gender.

That being said, the thing with pregnancies with a spouse or a partner is its heavily one sided. The woman is guaranteed to know that the baby is biologically theirs from a natural pregnancy. There is no two ways about it because she is carrying it. The man on the other hand does not know. In all cases, the man relies on trust of fidelity. So this situations has always been heavily one sided. The problem like all things is when trust becomes an issue of contention with someone, whether that be in a relationship, or in a corporation, or in government work. When you can't trust someone, then all of those normal assumptions go out the door and you need to start questioning things.

Fun fact: Paternity tests are illegal in France. You can go to jail and face a €15,000 fine for getting one done, even if you have it done out of the country. They do this to "preserve the peace" within French families because of the extremely high rate of infidelity there.

Why do you think the standard is now that women sleep around and have other people's kids of is this exceptional?

Getting a paternity test ought to be someone's right, should they want to have something like that done. After all, its people's finances and mutual relationships we're talking about. Couples will devote a lot of emotional and financial investment into their families. But if the families were conceived from lies, and being honest and truthful in a relationship is something that is valued and important to someone, then they ought to have the right to get to the bottom of something to discover the truth.

Seriously, think about it. The situation with all natural births is heavily asymmetrical between the male and the female. The female carrying the baby knows the baby is theirs. The man must believe or trust that the baby is theirs. Its just not the same. The situation is inherently biased and one sided to begin with. So that is what these paternity tests are for. To level the playing field some what.
