Family Law Is Warped When

You retain a lawyer cause you want to separate from your spouse.

But when a divorce causes you so much distain for your lawyer, even more than your ex spouse, it makes you query the system.

I have assessed two law firms and Im very disgusted with their lack of professionalism and integrity.

I am now about to complain to the Upper Law Society with respect to three of the lawyers that handled my case.

I realize that family law can be advisarial, but some family law lawyers relish in keeping it going.

I have been separted for four years now and my ex and I doing far better through communications than having them involved. Would I go back to my ex.....NEVER....but after four years....he is the lesser of the two evils.

People are in one of their most vulnerable states when getting a divorce and some family law lawyers take advantage of that. Its dispicable the way they ROB u of your money and play games only for their financial gain.

I had respect for lawyers before my divorce, even worked for a few criminal lawyers. However, I found alot of of family law lawyers lack scruples and integrity

Before you retain a family law lawyer, INTERVIEW them, they need u more than u truly need them. Remember that!!!! I was fortunate to find 1 in 5 who gave a shit about my case and what I endured.

Now I know why there are so many jokes about lawyers!! They pertain to family law lawyers.

Perhaps we all need to take three years to adjust to the separation then move forward and remove lawyers totally from the equasion.

I would suggest that you think very carefully about bringing a Law Society complaint against all three of your former lawyers. As you have worked for lawyers in the past, it might appear to some that you are an experienced and sophisticated consumer of legal services and should have been able to know a good lawyer from a bad lawyer. Then to a bystander it does look a bit unlikely that you could be so unlucky to have three bad lawyers in a row. Of course, it is possible and I m sure you feel all three did not act appropriately. I would also suggest you remember that all judges were practising lawyers before they were judges.
If I were you, I would take a long look at what is most important; these lawyers or your case. I had some dealings with an unscrupulous lawyer at the start of my case and decided to focus my energy on my child and stbx.

Welcome to the multibillion/year family law industry! Why do you think we have such an Adversarial system? If we all just got along and settled matters reasonably, then a lot of judges, court recorders and yes, lawyers would not be able to finance all thoughs nicest Mercedes, boats and luxury houses. We are suckers for the taking.

1. The Law Society really doesn't do much. You may find yourself slapped with a slander suit in return from the solicitors.

2. Solicitors track and log everything. The will use your file, your instruction to them, or your lack of instruction to them back at you.

3. The Law Society is a spineless organization.

Lawyers only advise. You don't have to take their advice. Like if your solicitor tells you to go to the police, try to have your ex arrested, then failing that, tells you to remove your children without consent or a court order and make false allegations, you still followed their advice. You could file a complaint about this but, you would need *cogent evidence* to the fact. Emails from the lawyer telling you to basically break the law.

That is why a therapeutic solution should be the first intervention of the court system (mental health) rather than legal. Nothing ever really gets solved in court and it only makes matters worse. Seperation and divorce is a healing process. It is not "divorce porn" like you read in "Eat Pray Love".

Family Law is unlike any other component of the legal system. It is driven by emotion.

The mental health system should be involved and reviewing materials going into the court identifying and working with the family. Rather than throwing baseless accusations into paragraphs about who did what to whom and who yells the loudest etc... Its all he-said she-said garbage and not what the legal system is about.
