Whether he is being forced out quietly, or the toll of destroying families has proven too much, an announcement in the Ontario Bar Association Newsletter confirmed that Justice Craig Perkins will be reducing his hours and slowly making his way off the bench and into retirement. After a long and uninspired career we are not sad to see the back of him. No doubt he'll discover new inspiration in his retirement though, as there'll be plenty of free time to indulge any latent desire to cause harm by, oh say ... killing puppies or drowning kittens.
Craig's retirement note from the Ontario Bar Association Newsletter dated August 2011: The Honourable Kenneth L. Campbell, Counsel with the Crown Law Office (Criminal) of the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General in Toronto, is appointed Judge of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Toronto, to replace Mr. Justice C. Perkins, who was elected to become a supernumerary judge as of May 1, 2011. Definition of Supernumerary Judge from JURIST Canada - Canadian Legal Dictionaries Supernumerary Judge: A federally appointed judge who has served 15 years and has attained 65 years (or 10 years and 70 years of age) who has elected to serve as a supernumerary or part time judge working about 50% of the time of a regular judge until retirement on pension at age 75. A supernumerary judge, may retire on pension at any time after making such an election as his or her pension is then earned by age and years of service; "Supernumerary Judge" is another way of saying "put out to pasture" before his misdeeds become too egregious for even his most loyal colleagues to hide. |

Forced retirement seems the only way to get rid of these devils. U of T Prof and leading constitutional scholar says lawyers are afraid to say anything about characters like Craig Perkins:

There's a buddist saying "I pray that I may have enough suffering to be truly compassionate". Then there is the Satanist creed "let me punish others for my suffering. Craig Perkins was born with a withered decrepit arm that makes every day in court a chore. That arm could be the buddist or Christian suffering that raises him to devine empathy with his fellow man ... a saint among the brethren who praise his name. Or it could be the shortcoming that brings a cruelly short temper and satanic impatience with all the unwashed masses that pass through his courtroom. It's easy to guess which has made him fall fall so low. If only the tax payers didn't keep him from his power lunches and the leisure time he needs to keep his Magnum Opus up to date... the Family Law Book he's written as a testament to the GREATNESS of his knowledge. If only the small people who need him to do the job they pay taxes for could be extinguished in some final judicial solution. Being a judge would be so much easier without a citizenry to serve as a judge for. Heil Perkins mein Führer!
