Default Spousal support range determination?

I'm just wondering how to determine what end of the spousal support range to use??

I've used the online calculators and they seem to have a spread of up to $1000/month.

Is there any criteria for when to use the low mid or high range? Age of spouse? Length of marriage or something?

Thanks

Choosing Location Within the Range (SSAG Chapter 9) - Spousal Support Advisory Guidelines: The Revised User's Guide

Here's a good place to start that may give an idea of what you might consider when offering. But really, if you're the payor, always offer low and let them negotiate up to your limit, and if you're the recipient, always ask for the high end and let them negotiate down to your limit.
