Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with how a parenting coordinator will typically assign costs, and how the bill will be presented. The problems I am are encountering are: - coordinator is assigning bulk of costs towards me, and so far the only reason given is 'oh, that's just the way I do it'. I guess she is assuming my ex cannot afford to pay (although her refusals to follow court order is the reason why I have sought parenting coordinator's assistance; and my ex has escaped disclosing finances - her lifestyle and income have never matched up during our short relationship, or since then e.g. fully subsidized daycare and bought a new townhouse) - costs for single-person meetings and emails, phone calls that deal with multi-issues are assigned completely to that person, instead of being broken down 'per issue'. - costs for multi-person meetings and emails that deal with multi-issues are split 50-50, instead of being broken down 'per issue'. - the bill includes a set of line items (e.g. email from mother re ... on <date> 0.1hour), but a different set of items is used to breakdown which costs are payable by each party. There is no way to match up the 2 sets. I'm really wary of getting into a conflict with the coordinator about this and making myself appear as a trouble maker - am I right to be suspicous/wronged by this? |

Please anyone have any comments on this? I've talked with other PCs, and they are saying I'm getting screwed.
The coordinator has provided a clearer breakdown of the costs, but seems to be ignoring my request for an explanation of her allocation. That can't be right? Can it? Should I just accept that I should pay more because I'm the man? Even though ALL of the issues so far are cases of clear court order obstructions and/or violations of family law act? PC's are touted as a cheaper and faster alternative to the courts for resolving disputes, but so far, that does not seem to be the case.... |
