legislation regarding division of pension funds

So the separation agrreement is signed and up until we are told not until my husband retires can the unlocked fund be divided????? i understand there is new legislation changing this...any comments would be appreciated..thank you..maur bal

You need to check if you can still apply depending on the seperation agreement. Matters settled through the courts or a final court order prior to Jan1, 2012 means it is possible not open to you any more. Find out.

We have never gone to court for property claims yet and our seperation was only 2.5 years ago. With that in mind, can I use this form to get information on my ex-wife's pension?

The changes to the pension benefit act as of Jan 1, 2012 are very specific and seems to exclude prior agreements, you need to check it out whether it is open to you.
