Default Funny excerpt about Retirement Planning

If you had purchased $1,000.00 of Nortel stock a few years ago, it would now be worth $.00.

With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1,000.00.

With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.

If you had purchased $1,000 of Delta Air Lines stock, you would have $49.00 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of wine one year ago, drunk all the wine, then turned in the bottles for the recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.00.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

@Arabian.....

Don't even joke about the Nortel story.....The campus in Ottawa purchased in 2010, is now going to be used to consolidate most of the DND offices scattered all over Ottawa

DND HQ to be consolidated, officials confirm

How come you left out RIM shares?

I never could understand how large corporations come into Canada (in particular in Ontario), get HUGE government subsidies to make obscene profits and then abandon communities leaving so many unemployed? What's with that? Ontario used to be the "IT" Province at one time. Do you think it could possibly be something to do with unions?

If you put $1000 into bitcoins a couple of years ago you could have had $4,000,000 this year.

I'll just stick with my bond funds.

Oh yes...Bitcoin

For those wondering what this is:

Quote:
Bitcoin is a new online technology designed as a currency to enable anonymous transactions over the Internet with little or no fees. Bitcoin mining involves pooling together the resources of computers over a network to solve mathematical problems that, theoretically, generate bitcoins as a reward. The software supporting the system is open source, so it has already spawned a number of alternative forms of the technology, such as Ripple, Litecoin and Colored Coins.
