Quick question:
Does anyone have an idea of the standard time that it takes FRO to send out the initial package paperwork once they receive a court order? Thanks for any assistance. |

FRO just makes things slow and screws up a lot these days. Paperwork can take months depending where you are residing. But, you can get any of the paperwork right at the court house too. It should be submitted with your order/agreement. Good Luck! Tayken |

I was in court in October of 2010 and had all my papers before the middle of December (same year)! Getting the money from the ex on the other hand is a whole other story

Thank you.
I plan to start calling them as soon as I'm assigned a case number but I'm waiting for the initial paperwork to fill out. I've pulled it from online to do but until they actually assign me a case number, there's no sense in sending it, which I will do by overnight courier. I was just wondering if there was a standard time between them receiving the order and sending my initial package. Once I receive it, I will get it back in the mail the next day...wait a bit..then start calling them constantly. |

To make things faster and cheaper for me, I faxed everything in and followed up with a phone call AND mailed the originals after taking copies of everything for myself. It's not that I don't trust them.......yes it is!!!

The "official" average is 5-6 weeks. However, as mentioned, depending on the circumstances and where you are, it could take up to 5-6 months.

The case number shouldn't take long as the paperwork is quite standard. What takes the time is for them to get the money, hold it until it clears and then provide it to you. Why they take so long is beyond me as the financial institutes they are dealing with are all integrated. Good Luck! Tayken |

If you are in the GTA near a superior court house with a family law branch (Toronto, Brampton, Milton, etc...) it shouldn't take more than 5 weeks. Still, 5 weeks is just odd considering the technology and integration available to them to get it all done these days. Good Luck! Tayken |
