Default Cctb

I have it in my order that I am the only one to claim the CCTB. I had just talked to someone at CRA and they said that their laws take place of the one in the order, so now, I am only getting the CCTB for 6 months of the year and my ex gets it for the other half. I am just wondering, since I have a court order, is there anything that I can do about this?

I had a problem with my CCTB. My ex filled out the application and had the benefits switched him for 6months and myself for 6months. It took me almost 6 months to get the issue resolved where I'm the parent recieving it for the entire 12months.

My ex was disputting the fact that our daughter is in my care and control every day.

I had to provide to Revenue Canada certain documentation to resolve the issue. I had to fill out a document detailing our access situation and how much the child is in the other parents control. I provided a letter from someone that is firmilar with my custody/access situation, letter from my lawyer, letter from my daughters pediatrician (stating who the child lived with) and a letter from an activity that the child was enrolled in.

Rev Can ended up losing the documentation, I decided to get my Member of Parliment involved and the whole situation was resolved within 2 weeks. I also got back payment for the cheques my ex was issued.

It was very frustating though, contact the member of parliment, it will save yourself hrs of grief and hair pulling!
