would anyone have any idea how to go about filing for a divorce to a man who was married for 6 months , 40 years ago. Or how to find out if I am even still married to him, cannot get cpp supplement because of this. pleasehelp

If the divorce was granted prior to 1979

Documentation for divorces that were granted in Ontario prior to 1979 can be obtained from the Archives of Ontario. Archives staff will require the year the divorce was granted, the court location and the court file number. If you do not have that information, you should contact the court office or the Central Registry of Divorce Proceedings.

thank you for the help, I just got a call from the ontario courts saying taht the divorce was granted in 1994 after filing in 1969. Now is there any cpp or monies that should be owed me on this like pension plan or gaurenteed income supplement. there was no contest to this divorce . thanks again for the help
