Default Negative Advocate Lawyers - Review

Hi All,

This article written by an attorney is an excellent overview of Mr. William Eddy's position on "negative advocate lawyers':

Finding the Right Attorney -- Part Five: Two Types of Attorneys | South Carolina Family Law Blog

If you are not aware of or have reviewed Mr. Eddy's materials, books and research I highly recommend it. Mr. Eddy provides invaluable insight into the inner workings of "negative advocate lawyers" from his professional experience practicing both in Law (as a Lawyer) and as a Social Worker.

A lot of information can be found in Mr. Eddy's work and the related research it is based on. For example, simple and common examples of patterns of behaviour observed in "negative advocate lawyers" and even common statements and "advice" these negative advocates give to their clients.

Some additional reading for those not familiar with this concept of "negative advocate lawyers" and the nonsense they will engage in quite often:

It's All Your Fault!: 12 Tips for Managing People who Blame Others for ... - Bill Eddy, William A. Eddy - Google Books

I encourage everyone to research the concept further to gain a better understanding of how professionals can often hurt more than they help in a family law matter.

Furthermore, anyone whom has had contact with a "family law lawyer" knows the basic "truisms" of negative advocate lawyers. A 10 minute conversation with any attorney at a court house while observing a hearing or trial can produce a lot of substantial evidence to the conduct of lawyers. There are some really friendly and nice lawyers out there who will reveal all the "gotchas" of bad advice commonly given out by lawyers.

The "wings" of bad advice are everywhere in our legal system...

Good Luck!
Tayken
