Default Lawyers with low retainers?? In Barrie area?

Hey does anyone know of any good family lawyers that don't require a huge retainer or at least will accept payment plans?? I cannot come up with thousands of dollars at one time but am in desperate need of a lawyer!!!

Thanks

I hate to break it to you... But, this is a hard thing to find. Very unlikely to happen. Unless you have a family friend that can recommend someone lawyers usually want fat retainers. (Generally 5000$.)

Good LUck!

When I first retained my lawyer I did not have to pay a retainer. After hiring her she did the first part of our separation agreement and sent me the bill. I paid that one and we just continued. When it got to the point of selling the house I told her I did not have anymore funds to continue until the house was sold. When the house did sell the money went into trust. Now that everything is signed sealed and delivered my lawyer took her fee out and I got a check for the rest.

Check out MySupportCalculator.ca
Input your postal code and then on the right side of the page, a list of lawyers will come up, search through those...contact a few and see if they accept payment plans...

You got this service because the lawyer saw you had an asset to take their bill from. For those with no assets that are going to be liquidated like this... They want a retainer.

Good Luck!

Another good idea is to get the Legal Aid Lawyer List from the court house and try them. Even if you don't have LOA they will take you on as a client and probably have flexible payment options as they do take LOA certs etc...

Good Luck!
