My ex has a very generous disability policy that we bought several years ago. I do not have and critical care or disability insurance, am self employed and have had recent applications for both types of insurance denied. How will this issue be treated in terms of equalization?
We have agreed on and divided up all assets except our CPP and RSPs, the proceeds from the sale of our matrimonial home are in trust with my lawyer. Of course my ex now regrets agreeing to this and wants 1/2 of that amount released. What are the options since my ex has a very valuable and important asset that I do not. |
