Default Hi there, I'm new to this and it looks pretty good !!

Hi there,,,,great being here,,,,looks like a good place to be.
Was wondering if anyone could help me out with some info? I have been living separate and apart from my spouse since 1992. I am wanting to get things finalized by getting divorced, possibly getting remarried someday as well. But as I always say, "gotta take care of the baggage first"?? LOL
"Is there a statute of limitations for getting a divorced granted, easily and cheap?" There is no children or divisions of assets. My "ex" agreed to uncontest the divorce. He has no real fixed address, and he kinda staying just where ever he can. (Same as before,,"lazy"). Anyway, I would like to get rid of anything that was so-called part of marriage considering the time we have been apart. Can anyone help me in this matter? I have resumed my maiden since our separation in 1992. We even reside in different provinces also.
Just would like to clear up the "unfinished business".
Thanx all,,,,and good luck to you as well.

Sillygal,

Welcome to the forum.

A divorce can be granted by default after a one year continuous separation period. On this stance, I don't think you will have any problems securing a Divorce from your estranged husband.

Thanx for you information, greatly appreciated. Now for another question if able to answer as well? "Will I be able to proceed through this process without having to contact my ex-husband?" I heard "through the grapevine", that I may be able to get it done without requiring him, by means of posting it in a local paper for a short period of time, and if no response, I may be able to proceed? Does that make any sense, or is it just rubbish?
I have a good idea what area he might be in, which is not in the same province as myself. Will this cause me any more grief being we live in separate provinces? Also,,,have any idea of what the cheapest and easiest way to go about this on my own, (without a lawyer) ?
Thanx again.
