divided separation agreement?

Can you have a separation agreement divided in parts?

My wife and I disagree on child custody. We are nearly in agreement on every other aspect of our separation.

Is it possible to arrange a contract that excludes child custody leaving it to be resolved at a future date or by a court? Is there any advantage or disadvantage to that?

Yes, you can settle some issues separately e.g. property division and divorce.

But it's kinda hard to settle CS without settling custody and access. To some degree that also applies to SS.
