My x went to court and pleaded quilty, for comman assult against my child he is on probation for nine months and he has to make a small donation to one of the daycares in town. He has been going to anger management, which I think...good for him.
We are now in the process of going to Family court,to change child custody I have heard Family court will look at this matter differently then crimminal, is that true or not. |

Family court will view the criminal matter as a risk factor and more often than not, a judge is going to err on the side of caution when making a decision regarding your ex-spouse's access to the children. Don't be surprised if supervised access comes out of this, then again, don't expect anything either because it's always a crap shoot when you go to court.

Usually if charges have been laid in a case against a child, CAS has stepped in and often they will take a position on custody & access. If this is the case then their opinion will hold great weight with a Judge.
Not knowing any of details, do you feel comfortable leaving your child alone with your ex in an unsupervised setting? |
