Default Christmas schedule question

I am wondering how everyone has this divided up? It seems every year the other parent is changing up the regular schedule and taking whatever she wants.

This year, she wishes to tell me what days I can have once she knows what her work schedule is like.. is this reasonable? Does the other parents time really need to be dictated around the other parent's work schedule? case law?

It is a 2 week school break, to be divided in half (handover sat evg or sun am). Alternate who gets the first week. Every year you get either Xmas or new year's Eve (though this year the sat evg IS new year's Eve, so a bit tight). We celebrate Xmas whenever we can if we don't have the actual eve/day.

Cuts down on arguments, but sometimes it doesn't fit work schedule very well.

Yes, they're both on weekends this year and mom wants both. dreams are free sometimes.

Will proceed with a motion to get this sorted out

Why not offer both up and then for next year you get both? This would be a better thing to do than go on motion. You only get so many motion credits before a judge will lock you down and require leave prior to bringing a motion.

If he makes multiple severable offers to settle and then motions, it shouldn't use up one of his "credits".

She wants both every year. Cancelled my visits that fell on those days every year.

Her argument: you don't celebrate those events

My argument: I'd like to be able to travel on the school Christmas break
