Once applications have been filed to the Office of the Children's Lawyer.

How long does it take to determine if they are going to complete an assessement?

I have only had one opportunity to deal with them but it only took about 2 weeks to get notice of involvment back after the initial application in my case. However it was over a month to actually be interviewed by the OCL Social worker. Long process... 2 more months for the final report.

How much of OCL worker's report info does judge take into consideration when making an order?

It is all dependant on the particular Judge. They ultimately hold what discretion, consideration or amount of weight to apply to the recomendation of the report. It is just once piece of the puzzle. Family Law Cases sway on the facts due to "on the balance of probabilities" form of evidence rather than "beyond a reasonable doubt."
