calculation of time for division of property
I was married five years almost to the day, but lived with my wife for about 1 year before we got married. Does that year of cohabitation count when calculating the period of cohabitation for the purposes of determining pension division or accrual of matrimonial assets?

Yes this is included in the time frame for pensionable earning splitting.
