You do indeed sound sexist. As the wife and stepmom to a lovely girl caught in the middle of her parents battles on access, I have been helping file court papers for my spouse for the last 10 years, dealing with lawyers, and in my spare time I volunteer to fill out the forms for other dads who are getting screwed by the system, and never look to the money until the access and custody issues are settled...In this case, the stepmother has a valid point, and she may be raising it as the spouse with more spare time to ask the questions.
