Overall I think there are two issues that come up here. One is the deceit of the mother claiming that this about breastfeeding (at the age of 2 1/2 years) when it was really an excuse to keep full custody. This is a decesion only the judge could make, it wouldn't be automatic in every similar case.
The other issue that is hopeful, is that after that length of time the judge wasn't simply relying on status quo but was looking at the need of the father and daughter to have a chance to develope their own bond and relationship. A 29 month status quo would be huge at a later age, but wisely (IMHO) the judge saw the difference here.
