Description: Our family law section is headed by Robert A. Ponton, Jr., who is a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and a specialist in family law certified by the North Carolina State Bar, with 25 years of experience in family law practice. The family law group provides clients with experienced guidance through all facets of matrimonial law, including, but not limited to, issues involving children, equitable distribution of marital property, and spousal support. The family law group also offers expertise in family tort issues – alienation of affection, criminal conversation and intentional inflicting of emotional stress. Premarital agreements are a specialty of the practice group. The family law group has expertise in collaborative law including mediated resolutions. Our lawyers regularly serve as mediators and arbitrators.
