Description: The firm was formed in 1900 by General A.W. Wright upon his return from the Spanish American War. After practicing in Austin for many years, approximately 1920, he took in Justice Martin A. Nelson. General Wright died in 1925 and Justice Nelson took in Hugh V. Plunkett, Sr. as a partner in May of 1927. Mr. Plunkett had the all-time high marks of what is now known as the William Mitchell College of Law with a 4-year average of 94.75%. Justice Nelson went on the District Bench in Mower County, Minnesota in 1943 at which time Hugh V. Plunkett, Jr. joined the firm. Warren F. Plunkett joined the firm in October of 1948 and handled much of the trial work for the firm until he went on the District Bench May of 1955. Judge Plunkett retired from the bench in 1982 and resumed his practice with the firm. Peter D. Plunkett joined the firm in October of 1985. Hugh V. Plunkett Jr. died in December of 1987. The firm practices divorce and family law.
